Roy is Everspire’s co-founder and resident visionary. As the financial industry has transformed over the last twenty years, Roy has led the way in making sure that clients and advisors benefit from those changes. Everspire is the result of that vision.

Roy has built a firm where advisors are free to recommend the most appropriate investment for the client’s needs without sales pressure or limited options. Achieving this degree of independence has required creativity and ambition. For instance, advisors who want to offer annuities and private investments to their clients are often held hostage by national broker/dealers. Roy’s solution? Have Everspire purchase its own broker/dealer and operate it not to maximize profit but as a way to provide advisors with a complete toolkit with no compromises.

Roy’s commitment to getting the platform right extends to Everspire’s technology ecosystem. Tech can improve client outcomes and transform an advisor’s business by saving time, improving the investment results, increasing communication between advisor and client, and increasing the accuracy and relevance of financial plans. Roy has built an integrated technology platform that excels in each of these areas.

In his own work with clients, Roy is known for his extensive financial planning knowledge and his hard work on client plans. He advises on asset building, spending in retirement, and on special situations like inheritance or the sale of a business or property. Clients regularly comment on Roy’s ethical commitment to their best interest and on his directness about investment return expectations.

Roy is a member of the Financial Planning Association and he enjoys giving pro bono planning workshops to under-served populations. He has also been awarded 5 Stars by the Paladin Registry. Roy studied International Relations and Military Science while participating in the National Guard and still loves learning about history, economics, diplomacy, and literature through his personal reading.

After being accepted into flight school, his wife, Aubrey, gently told him she would rather he became a financial advisor. Roy and Aubrey reside in Herriman with four beautiful children, two dogs, and a cat—and usually one or two nieces/nephews on his couch. Roy enjoys camping, racquetball, soccer, mountain biking, skiing, and reading (especially Russian literature and science fiction). He has enjoyed recent family trips to Akumal, Maui, Oregon, and Lake Powell and he hopes to survive an upcoming road trip to Washington, D.C. with all nine Jones life-forms.
